Roon the Bankers & up the Mast Road

Join Gillian's Walks and EnRich Outdoors to discover the flora and fauna of this delightful loop across the quiet hillsides behind Darvel. We will start by following part of the Long Cairn Walk before branching off to climb the Changue Road, or 'mast road'. The final part of the walk takes us through the ancient woodlands of the Lanfine Estate. Sunday 12th May 1.30pm until approx 4.30pm | Walk distance is around 6 miles with frequent stops to talk about the natural history of the area | Free event | No pre-booking required, just meet at Darvel Parish Church Hall to register.

Fundamentals of Nordic Walking Technique

Nordic Walking is a low-impact exercise that enhances the benefits of traditional walking by incorporating specially designed poles. It engages the entire body, improving balance, strength, and cardiovascular fitness. Aimed at complete beginners, this in-depth session will teach you the basic technique behind the activity. Event sponsored by The Outdoor Partnership Ayrshire. Sunday 12th May 11am-12.30pm | Free event | Pre-booking essential due to limited sets of Nordic poles | Meeting point Darvel Parish Church Hall.
