This walk is perfect if you don’t have a lot of time but enjoy a brisk seaside walk on easy ground. There’s a play park for the kids too. If you time it right and the tide is in, there is one section of the promenade where the water reaches the sea wall and on a ‘choppy’ day the waves sometimes spill over onto the promenade!

WALK REVIEW: 14th January 2016
This morning the little man and I went to Prestwick to watch the fly-by marking the final flight of the Sea King rescue helicopters. They were leaving from Prestwick at 10am. We made it just in time to see them (running late as usual). While we were there I took Thomas a walk along the prom in his buggy. It was a beautiful sunny winters day with clear blue skies and a stunning view across to snow-covered Arran (see photo below!). Walking along feeling the freezing wind on my face I was in my element, I thought to myself ‘there is nowhere else I would rather be right now.’ Perfection! We were joined by plenty of others out enjoying the fresh air.
If you have kids with you then the play park halfway along the promenade is a must-visit: it quite possibly has swings with THE best view in Scotland, it is quite magnificent! I normally sit my two in the swings facing towards the sea and they pretend that they are flying into the water 🙂
