Rozelle House & Pond

WALK REVIEW: 8th February 2016

Thomas and I were looking to pass a couple of hours in the Alloway area and I knew from past visits that he loved Rozelle Country Park especially thanks to the duck pond and tea room.

After a dry sunny morning, as soon as we pulled into the park it started to rain! We took the opportunity to eat the picnic I had packed for the car in the hope that it would pass by the time we were finished. We were in luck 🙂

We stopped to admire the stone carvings and beautiful trees in the gardens – they are an incredible size, so much history in those trees! We chatted a little about how long they must have been there to have grown so big. It wasn’t long before Thomas spotted the Tea Room so we headed over and sampled some of their home baking. To be honest I am a sucker for a nice piece of cake and so it didn’t take much to persuade me! Such a quaint little traditional English-style team room.

Lucky for wellies as the ground around the pond was pretty muddy today.  The swans and ducks seemed to follow us all the way around in hope of something to eat but we had nothing with us today!
