Parking available within Rozelle Country Park. Go in via the main entrance off Monument Rd, Alloway then take the first right into the small parking area. Local bus services stop on Monument Road at park entrance.

route image  Route:  Follow the track at the far side of the car park (away from the main road) which will bend to the left and bring you out beside the gardens of Rozelle House. Continue straight to a gate where you turn left to pass along the front entrance of Rozelle House Galleries on a concrete road. After a short walk you will come to an earth track on your right leading to the duck pond. Follow it round either way until you complete your loop then turn right onto the road. The entrance to the car park is a short distance away on the left.

WALK REVIEW: 8th February 2016

Thomas and I were looking to pass a couple of hours in the Alloway area and I knew from past visits that he loved Rozelle Country Park especially thanks to the duck pond and tea room.

After a dry sunny morning, as soon as we pulled into the park it started to rain! We took the opportunity to eat the picnic I had packed for the car in the hope that it would pass by the time we were finished. We were in luck :-)

We stopped to admire the stone carvings and beautiful trees in the gardens – they are an incredible size, so much history in those trees! We chatted a little about how long they must have been there to have grown so big. It wasn’t long before Thomas spotted the Tea Room so we headed over and sampled some of their home baking. To be honest I am a sucker for a nice piece of cake and so it didn’t take much to persuade me! Such a quaint little traditional English-style team room.

Lucky for wellies as the ground around the pond was pretty muddy today.  The swans and ducks seemed to follow us all the way around in hope of something to eat but we had nothing with us today!

  1. Hello Alma thank you for leaving a message. I hope you & your two pups enjoy Rozelle, its a lovely walk. I’ve not been in a while myself, as its not on my doorstep. But now that we are allowed to travel again I’ll be paying it a visit soon. Do get back in touch and let me know how you liked it!
